PASIGHAT, Feb 29: A six-day state level training programme on ‘Organic farming and soil testing-Tools for sustainable agriculture’ has got underway at the premises of College of Horticulture & Forestry, CAU, Pasighat here on Feb 27 last.
As many as 17 officials from various departments and KVKs are attending the programme being organized by the department of Natural Resource Management, CHF, CAU, Pasighat.
Addressing the inaugural function as chief guest, Dr B N Hazarika, Dean of the college said it’s time to emphasize on the importance of organic farming in all aspects of farming.
Earlier, Dr Dinesh Sah, Course Director gave a brief outline of the training programme. The training coordinator, Dr P.Debnath advised the participants to reap maximum benefit from the opportunities provided to them.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Bosiram Siram, who visited the college, in his address to the trainee officials of the departments, exhorted them to take full benefit of the training programme and pass on the imparted knowledge to the farming community for optimum production of crops by adopting the improved technology.
