ITANAGAR, Aug 10: The Papum Pare Unemployed Engineers’ Association (PPUEA), a delegation of which met the Chairman cum Managing Director of NEEPCO here today informed that the NEEPCO CMD has assured to look into its demands – 100% group C & D job reservation for project affected people and selection of Itanagar as examination center by the Corporation for any of its job recruitments in future.
Regarding its demand for provision of ST quota in the NEEPCO’s recent online advertisement for recruitment of various posts, the Association said that the CMD advised them to take up the matter with the Union Ministry of Power as well as the State govt. He also assured to extend help to the unemployed youth in near future.
The PPUEA, meanwhile, urged the Power Ministry to reconsider and modify the reservation of ST quota under the NEEPCO’s job recruitment policy which according to it is totally against the interest of indigenous people of North East region.
Today’s meeting was also attended, among others, by the NEEPCO Manager (Civil), Head of Project, Pare HEP and its Dy Manager.
