ITANAGAR, Oct 1: DGP Kanwaljit Deol, who is on transfer from the State and would leave soon, called on Chief Minister Nabam Tuki at his official residence here this morning.
Deol – the outgoing DGP, An IPS Officer of 1977 batch from AGMUT Cadre, took over the charge of DGP of Arunachal Pradesh following her predecessor Vimla Mehra’s transfer to New Delhi in May 2010.
Tuki expressed gratitude to the outgoing DGP for the services rendered by her in the top post for more than two years. He said the people, govt and especially the Home department of the state would remember her as a sincere, honest and upright DGP, who led from the front by example.
The Chief Minister wished her all success in her future endeavours.
In return, Deol offered her gratitude and sincere thanks to the Chief Minister for his cooperation and support in matters of law and order and police administration. She said she will always remember her brief tenure of working under Tuki, who also holds the Home portfolio. Besides, she said she will never forget working in a beautiful and warm hearted state like Arunachal Pradesh.
“Wherever I may be, I will always cherish my stay in Arunachal Pradesh. Even if I may not be officially associated with Arunachal Pradesh my heart will always have a feeling of belongingness to the State,” she said.
