ITANAGAR, Jan 5: A spectacular passing out parade and attestation ceremony of 370 ITBP personnel was organized at Recruit Training Centre (RTC), Kimin on Saturday.
Addressing the young recruits, ITBP (Training Zone) IG Nitin Agarwal stressed on the importance of internal security and border guarding in which elite force ITBP is deployed.
Besides guarding the country’s borders with Tibet in Himalayas, the central armed police force is also playing a vital role in anti-naxal operations, said the 1989 batch IPS officer.
After taking salute from parade contingents under command of Shushil Kumar Yadav, the IG highly appreciated the constables for their excellent physical fitness and much disciplined parade. He also praised the trainers, who worked hard with the personnel for last 44 weeks.
On the occasion, the IG also handed over awards to top five trainees – Sushil Kumar Yadav (overall best trainee), Sachin Sharma (physical fitness), Bikram Singh (weapon), Ajit Kumar (drill) and Afthab Alam (target).
Earlier, ITBP (Kimin) DIG Raj Kishor Sah has stated that these young constables/ general duty have to be mentally and physically strong to face all the challenges while handling various internal security related matters.
“These Heemveers have been imparted quality training in every aspect and are ready to face all the daunting tasks,” he emphatically said.
During their strenuous and demanding training, these trainees have undergone training on various military and administrative subjects like – field craft, battle craft, conventional tactics, counter-insurgency operation, field engineering, weapon, drill, map reading, law, human rights etc, the DIG said.
